Toyota Industries Corporation announced plans to revamp its warehouse automation business, which provides automated systems for warehousing, storage, retrieval and other logistics processes in warehouses, distribution centers and factories.

Toyota Industries plans to establish regional operating companies in the United States and Europe, unifying all warehouse automation-related organizations in these regions, including subsidiaries, under the regional name “Toyota Automated Logistics.” Through this planned reorganization, Toyota Industries aims to strengthen group-wide collaboration and improve its global warehouse automation business.

The new organizational structure is expected to begin operations in April 2026, subject to the completion of required disclosures and/or consultation with relevant local works councils in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, Toyota Industries said in a press release.

Under the envisaged new framework, the group said it would focus on growing its warehouse automation business through faster group-wide decision-making. Toyota Industries Group’s global logistics automation business is primarily driven by its Dutch subsidiary Vanderlande Industries Holding BV, which operates large-scale automation systems for airports, parcel management and warehouse automation; its German subsidiary viastore Intralogistics Holding GmbH, which is dedicated to automating small and medium-sized warehouses; and its American subsidiary Bastian Solutions, LLC. Since the three companies joined the group, Toyota Industries said, the company has worked to strengthen collaboration between the organizations and create synergies through gradual organizational restructuring.

In Europe, Toyota Industries plans to merge the warehouse automation businesses of Vanderlande and viastore. In the United States, the US of Bastian and Vanderlande warehouse automation businesses will be integrated.

Vanderlande will continue to specialize in airport and parcel operations, providing even higher value-added solutions and services, Toyota Industries added in the release. Announcement of November 10.

The warehouse automation market is expected to continue to grow in major markets in Europe and the United States, Toyota Industries said. Through this planned reorganization, Toyota Industries said it will develop solutions tailored to the characteristics of each business segment and strengthen its sales capabilities, while effectively utilizing resources such as personnel, solution portfolio, customer base and information within the warehouse automation business to provide solutions tailored to various operations and customer segments across the world.
