GXO and Unilever have signed a ten-year agreement to build and operate a highly automated logistics hub in the Paris region. The 60,000 square meter site will bring together all Unilever product families under one roof and is expected to open in June 2027.
The installation will increase efficiency, reduce supply chain complexity and improve customer service. GXO says the partnership demonstrates its ability to provide tailor-made and automated logistics solutions for major FMCG brands.
Under the agreement, GXO will manage logistics and repackaging and process approximately 50 million packages per year. The site will employ approximately 200 people at full capacity. Automation will be at the heart of operations, including automated unloading, multi-depth storage and robotic layer selection, as well as automated co-packing.
Sustainability is also a priority. The bespoke hub is aiming for a BREEAM® ‘Excellent’ rating, supported by energy efficient systems, waste reduction measures and responsible water use.
GXO already operates more than 35 FMCG locations worldwide and ships nearly a billion cases per year. In France, the company operates more than 60 warehouses and employs more than 8,700 people. The new hub in the Paris region strengthens GXO’s position as a key partner for FMCG clients seeking scale, automation and greener logistics.
