First Korean fashion company to implement Exotec’s “Skypod” system
Fast and accurate delivery for over 200,000 products
On December 24, Musinsa announced its partnership with Exotec, a global leader in French logistics automation, to advance its infrastructure. The company plans to introduce a system that can securely and efficiently manage its vast inventory of hundreds of thousands of fashion and accessories products, with the aim of driving brand growth and improving customer satisfaction.
Musinsa Logistics, the logistics subsidiary of Musinsa, will implement Exotec’s three-dimensional logistics solution, the “Skypod” system, at its logistics center in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, which is scheduled to be officially opened in the first half of next year. Musinsa is the first Korean fashion company to deploy Exotec’s Skypod solution.
This project is part of Musinsa Logistics’ logistics innovation strategy aimed at strengthening its competitiveness in the national and global fashion markets. Musinsa Logistics adopted the automation solution to efficiently manage more than 200,000 types of complex fashion inventory and flexibly respond to seasonal fluctuations in logistics volume.
The Skypod system is based on three-dimensional mobile robots that can move freely on the floor and in vertical spaces of a warehouse. It enables high-speed travel of up to 4 meters per second and vertical picking from racks up to 14 meters high, helping to increase throughput in high-rise fashion logistics centers.
With this implementation, the company plans to improve the speed and accuracy of product preparation and storage, while simultaneously improving the efficiency of inventory management and labor operations. In particular, the flexible design allows the gradual expansion of robots according to the increase in logistics volume, thus making it possible to respond with agility to future business growth.
To prevent fire accidents, the security of the system has also been strengthened. Exotec’s Skypod system features an “in-rack sprinkler” design, which allows sprinklers to be easily installed at 10-foot intervals inside large racks.
Musinsa Logistics hopes that this logistics system innovation will go beyond simply improving internal operational efficiency and provide an opportunity to deliver greater value to partner brands and customers. By introducing an efficient automation system and innovating the Musinsa Fulfillment Service (MFS), the company can provide a logistics foundation that accelerates the growth of partner brands.
A representative of Musinsa Logistics said: “Musinsa will continue to maintain its unrivaled competitiveness in the domestic and international fashion markets and constantly innovate customer experience through continuous investments in innovative logistics infrastructure. »
