Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that allows machines to imitate human thinking and learning, allowing them to analyze information, recognize patterns and make decisions. For investors, AI is important because it can improve how businesses operate, create new products, or identify opportunities faster and more accurately than humans alone, which can impact business success and market trends.
Nearly half of program applications include integrating AI as a core capability in business transformation initiatives.
The program recognized 107 top-notch engagements with enterprise clients. – Highlights from the ISG case study ― 58 technology and business service providers. The case studies were selected from a record 536 submissions received from vendors in 2025. Applications were more geographically diverse, with a higher number of global engagements and submissions from more regions. Nearly half of all use cases incorporated AI, up from about a third in 2024, reflecting AI’s growing role as an integrated capability within large-scale enterprise initiatives.
“Companies are entering into long-term strategic partnerships for business transformation enabled by advanced technologies and AI,” said Paul Reynolds, ISG Partner and Director of Research. “In 2025, we saw AI-based approaches in a much larger share of submissions, alongside a continued focus on modernization. »
The research program identifies the strengths of ISG case studies based on factors such as the uniqueness, complexity and impact of each use case and the vendor’s commitment to the client’s objectives. In evaluating use cases, ISG found that long-term strategic partnerships remain a key factor in successful engagements.
Operational transformation continued to dominate the company’s priorities, emerging as a strategic objective in a clear majority of use cases submitted for evaluation. Many have focused on modernization programs designed to improve resilience, agility and end-to-end operational efficiency, including continued efforts to reduce the role of legacy systems.
Among the 58 providers recognized for 2025, two – Genpact and Infosys ― has had at least seven notable use cases. Five suppliers – Coforge, HCLTech, Hexaware, LTIMindtree and Stefanini – had four or more named as notable. Fourteen other suppliers distinguished themselves by at least two.
ISG’s case study research program is the only one of its kind examining how companies partner with vendors to uncover deep insights into the factors common to the most successful AI and digital programs.
Case study submissions are independently validated by the client company. Outstanding elements are identified and selected by an independent ISG Research Review Committee based on the objectives, solutions and results achieved through the partnerships.
ISG Case Study Research informs the firm’s advisory work with corporate clients, both to identify suppliers qualified to provide services on the project and to recommend those who should be considered as procurement partners. Case studies also form the basis of the ISG Paragon Awardwhich recognize the continued transformation of procurement industry partnerships through new approaches and technologies.
