Ahmedabad: Members of several medical organizations, including the Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA), participated in the launch of the Ahmedabad Hitcon AI in Healthcare declaration at Vigyan Bhavan in Science City on Sunday.Dr Pragnesh Vachcharajani, founder of Hitcon, said that various stakeholders are committed to responsible, ethical and patient-centric use of AI in healthcare. “Some of the key aspects of the declaration include responsible and ethical AI, interoperability according to ABDM standards, adoption of clinician-centric AI, evidence-based implementation, democratization of AI for tier II and III cities and public-private collaboration,” he said.The event took place as part of Hospex 2026, which concluded on Sunday with the participation of national and international delegates. Speakers expanded on the implementation of AI in different aspects of the healthcare ecosystem, ranging from disease prediction to database management.Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, founder of Health Parliament, elaborated on the five stages of AI evolution in his speech and said that the role of AI is rapidly evolving from reactive to autonomous. He said the need of the hour is not to be afraid of technological development, but to embrace it to stay ahead. He asked doctors to be innovators.Participants also raised issues of training data quality, large-scale adoption of technology, and AI and ethics in forensic fields.
