Descartes systems (DSGX) Group announced that Michigan-based Automated Logistics Systems is using the Descartes Free Zone solution to help its customers speed up customs clearance and reduce costs of imports into the United States by deferring payment of many customs duties. The Descartes FTZ solution enables importers and logistics service providers to comply with CBP regulatory requirements for operating a FTZ in the United States by automating detailed chain of custody, access, release processes shipping and record keeping.
