Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, officially opened an Advanced Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) in the forward areas of the Desert Sector.

This newly introduced automated system is poised to significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Army for operations in desert environments. It promises increased logistics efficiency, faster responsiveness and improved sustainment in the face of challenging operational scenarios.

The ASRS is the result of a collaborative effort with several industry partners including Addverb Tech Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and the Military Engineering Services. This partnership highlights the growing synergy between the Army and industry in the deployment of cutting-edge logistics solutions.

Lt Gen Seth hailed the initiative as a significant step towards developing a modern, agile and technology-driven logistics framework. He stressed that automation and innovation are crucial to maintaining high-tempo operations in the harsh desert conditions.
This inauguration underlines the Indian Army’s commitment to forward-looking logistics, operational resilience and industrial collaboration to maintain combat effectiveness across different theaters of operations.
