Bastian Solutions has incorporated viastore’s operations in North America to strengthen material handling equipment services within the Toyota Automated Logistics group.

Bastian Solutions, which manufactures automated material handling equipment, has merged viastore’s North American office into its own company. Based in Germany, viastore provides automated pallet handling equipment and technology. Its North American branch will now operate under the name Bastian Solutions while the parent company will continue to serve customers worldwide.
The buyout consolidates the expertise of both companies to support Toyota Automated Logistics Group (TALG), the umbrella organization created last year by Toyota Industries Corporation to house the two companies alongside Vanderlande and Toyota L&F (see box below).
According to Bastian, this brings additional pallet handling expertise in-house for faster and improved customer support. “Similarly, Bastian will provide our integration expertise to viastore customers in North America,” said Matt Kuper, vice president of global sales and applications at Bastian Solutions.
Bastian said the viastore North buyout would create “a powerhouse in the logistics automation sector” and give customers access to a broader portfolio of products and technologies.
Ariel Oliveira, president of viastore North America, said: “Combining our advanced pallet handling expertise with Bastian’s strong systems integration capabilities allows us to deliver unmatched value and service. »
Customers benefiting from these combined services include Toyota Logistics Services, which supports Toyota Motor’s operations in North America.
“Bastian, as a member of TALG, provides material handling equipment and support directly to Toyota Logistics Services… as well as Toyota Motor North America and the North American regional team,” Kuper said. “Bastian’s role for these companies typically focuses on improving logistics efficiency through automated guided vehicles (AGVs), supporting the parts distribution network, and improving material handling processes through automation and other technologies.
The company said the synergy in North America promotes better knowledge sharing and enables more efficient delivery of services to customers. “This collaboration ensures faster and more responsive customer support, enabling TALG to address complex logistics challenges more effectively,” the spokesperson said.
