Toyota Industries has announced plans to restructure its warehouse automation business by merging part of Vanderlande with two of its other subsidiaries, Germany’s Viastore and America’s Bastian. The Japanese machinery manufacturer plans to establish regional operating companies in Europe and the United States, thereby unifying all warehouse automation-related organizations in these areas. Through the new structure, which is expected to start operations in April 2026, the company aims to strengthen group-wide collaboration and improve its global warehouse automation business.

Under the new envisaged framework, Vanderlande’s large warehouse automation branch in Veghel will merge with the small and medium-sized logistics systems integrator Viastore from Stuttgart to create Toyota Automated Logistics Europe. Vanderlande’s U.S. warehouse automation operations will be integrated into Bastian, an Indianapolis-based small and mid-sized logistics integrator, within Toyota Automated Logistics USA. Vanderlande will continue to specialize in airport and parcel operations, “providing even higher value-added solutions and services,” according to the press release.
“The warehouse automation market is expected to continue to grow in major markets in Europe and the United States,” the statement continued. “Through this planned reorganization, Toyota Industries will develop solutions tailored to the characteristics of each business segment and strengthen its sales capabilities, while effectively utilizing resources such as personnel, solution portfolio, customer base and information within the warehouse automation business to provide solutions tailored to various operations and customer segments across the world. »
