MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) – Artificial intelligence has been around in factories, warehouses and tech spaces for many years.
Now the public has unlimited access to AI, from creating apps in minutes to using robots for security.
According to Google CEO Eric Schmidt, AI is smarter than ever. And whether the public is ready or not, the rise of AI is not slowing down.
Marlo Anderson of National Day Calendar is an early adopter, even robots.
“There’s no doubt that artificial intelligence and robotics are coming like this. You could have a regular vacuum cleaner, and your robot would vacuum in a very similar way to Rosie from The Jetsons back in the day. I mean, that’s exactly where we’re heading,” said Marlo Anderson, founder of National Day Calendar and an early adopter of AI.
Anderson uses Astro, a small robot, to take customer selfies, dance and provide security for his office.
But the adorable dancing robot isn’t the only way Anderson and his team are using AI. They also create apps for their business, saving them tens of thousands of dollars.
Its AI assistants can even create a trivia game based on North Dakota in minutes.
“We want to create an app that’s tailored to the cold weather we’re experiencing in North Dakota,” Anderson said.
After a prompt from Anderson, his AI assistants do the rest, from creating the quiz summary to coding and ultimately completing the quiz.
Anderson believes that if used correctly, anyone with an idea, whether it’s a business or an app, can benefit from AI.
“Some industries are going to have to adapt, but I think if you’re good at what you do, you don’t have to worry about it a lot because it also amplifies you,” Anderson said.
He also believes some businesses, like the accounting and legal industries, will have to adapt, but with the technological ability to create business plans in less than an hour, Anderson expects the number of business owners to increase.
“Automate the mundane, amplify the awesome – the awesome being you. I think AI kind of does that. You’re a creative person. You can take that creativity and use AI to make it shine, so to speak,” Anderson said.
Anderson and his team harness the power of AI in everything they do, with Astro keeping a watchful eye.
